My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in November of 2003. As the oldest I was expected to put in a lot of help for the program we planned for them. This hymn was sung during their wedding, so I prepared this arrangement and led the congregation in singing it.

The hymn music is written by Joseph Barnby. If you have a hymnal that identifies songs by composer and has some Joseph Barnby hymns you can see that his compositions are more harmonically varied than most hymns. I did not alter his harmony for this arrangement, only selected instruments in a rising energy level toward the end of the hymn.

Since this was designed as accompaniment, I did not emphasize the melody, though you will hear it in the tenor voice through most of it.
